The guilty verdict brings justice in court, but serious questions remain about the response Henry Nowak received after he had been stabbed. As a former nurse, I believe the principle must always be clear: when someone is injured and asking for help, medical assessment, dignity and the preservation of life must come before assumption, accusation or arrest.
